Shooting...

Went shooting friday night... w/ Joel, Tracey & Jay for Joel's birthday. Joel being 'X' Military was fun to watch shred the target, it was his first time to shoot in years. Tracey kind of kicked back and watched, the noise hurt her head. Jay was a natural, most likely due to his eye for photography. I was bummed at first the Glock35 I use and the Baby Desert Eagle were out for repair but the Kimber Warrior II, .45 was fun Fun FUN! Shot better than ever ;-)

MAD Scientist...

Last night I watched a MAD scientist develop film in the kitchen sink and wondered...will the craZi chemicals affect us...not sure it matters, I've seen brilliance at work!!!
I saw a little tent sitting on the table and thought...how fun we can take the kitties camping! Then I realized this little tent had arms attached, a mini hazmat suit? I soon found out it was a mini dark room where film could be rolled onto the spools for developing. In the photography class I took at UCSD, I always struggled with adjusting to the pitch black darkness, where someone or something could possibly grab me while figuring out by feel how to roll the film the correct way. I got the hang of it I think, took a lot more time than the 3 minutes the MAD scientist took to roll THREE spools. The calculating & mixing of chemicals and knowing what chemicals to use to manually process film is definitely a science. Calculate, mix, develop...and there we have it our black n white negatives from our adventure to Balboa Park hanging from the shower rod. There is a whole lot more to the process but the Scientist made it look super easy and super fun! He had a big ass smile on his face being back in his element after a year and a half! Stay tuned we are one step closer to seeing the finished product... YAY!
